Senior Segment Development Specialist

Salary: $76,150 - 114,040 per year Requirements:

• We need at least 5 years of relevant experience in market development, segment strategy, strategic marketing, or industry relations within the print, publishing, or graphic communications sector.
• Experience in the publishing and book printing industry is preferred.
• We need a strong commercial and growth mindset, with the ability to align market development efforts to revenue goals, placement targets, market share expansion, and customer volume growth.
• We require deep knowledge of the book publishing and printing ecosystem, including key players, market drivers, workflow processes, offset-to-digital transition dynamics, and digital printing technologies.
• We value proven public speaking, spokesperson, or brand ambassador experience, along with a clear passion for digital print technology and adoption.
• We need demonstrated success in developing thought leadership content, running campaigns, and building a strong brand presence in a specialized vertical.
• We require excellent networking ability and a track record of building executive-level relationships and working with key industry influencers to drive business growth.
• We need outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex market trends and technical benefits clearly.
• We are looking for a seasoned professional who can manage complex, high-visibility projects with minimal supervision.
• We require a bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• An MBA is preferred.
• We require the ability to travel domestically up to 25%.
• We require a clean, valid state drivers license.
• Because driving is an essential part of the role, we require a valid drivers license, an acceptable driving record, and compliance with our safety guidelines and policies.

• We educate printers and publishers on the operational and economic benefits of moving print runs from offset to digital workflows.
• We work with customers after placement to help maximize equipment utilization and sustain print volume.
• We partner with sales, product, and business development leaders to generate qualified leads and measurable pipeline growth.
• We represent Canon as a knowledgeable industry voice, communicating the value of our digital portfolio to key stakeholders and prospective accounts.
• We take part in panel discussions, webinars, and industry events to strengthen our presence and open commercial opportunities.
• We champion print-on-demand, short-run economics, and sustainable publishing models that reduce waste and support the broader ecosystem.
• We educate stakeholders across the value chain to help them modernize operations, improve supply chain agility, and expand market reach.
• We collaborate with trade associations, educational institutions, and industry organizations to support initiatives that advance printed books in a digital environment.
• We analyze industry trends, market dynamics, competition, and technology shifts within book publishing and printing.
• We translate industry insights into commercial strategies that improve our market share and output volume.
• We identify opportunities to enter untapped sub-segments, replace competitor installations, and improve print run efficiency for end users.
• We provide market feedback to product strategy teams to support new products, technologies, and innovations.
• We create and deliver thought leadership content such as white papers, webinars, articles, and symposiums to influence buying decisions and encourage digital workflow adoption.
• We build and maintain strategic relationships with industry players, commercial printers, publishers, trade associations, and key influencers.
• We act as the main subject matter expert, sharing market intelligence with internal product, marketing, and sales teams to improve enablement tools and strategy.
• We design and execute multi-channel marketing programs and campaigns that raise awareness of our digital solutions, drive hardware placement, and stimulate end-user demand.
