Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school levels in a dynamic, itinerant setting. This school-based contract position is ideal for educators passionate about making a difference in the lives of K-8 students, with occasional support for high schoolers. You'll collaborate with a supportive school team, travel between two nearby schools daily within a well-organized cluster, and work with a manageable caseload of 12 students. Start making an impact in August and continue through the end of May, providing continuity and expert instruction to those who need it most.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Educator Certification required, with an endorsement or specialization in teaching students who are visually impaired.
• National Certification strongly preferred.
• Experience accommodating a variety of vision-related needs in K-8 educational settings.
• Strong ability to adapt curriculum and resources for accessible, differentiated instruction.
• District background check, fingerprinting, and timely completion of additional forms mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across multiple campuses.
• Assess individual student needs and develop tailored instruction plans to promote independence and academic success.
• Consult regularly with teachers, families, and staff to ensure appropriate modifications and inclusion.
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation and progress monitoring.
• Adapt and prepare accessible materials based on students’ IEP goals and visual needs.
• Participate in IEP meetings, assistive technology planning, and professional development as needed.
