Reliability Product Approval Engineer
\n \nLocation: Marietta, Ohio
\nPay: $65.33/hour
\nDuration: 12-month contract
\nRelocation: Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate
\n \nKYO Group is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support Thermo Fisher Scientific's laboratory equipment and ultra-low temperature product development programs.
\n \nThis role will focus on reliability engineering, verification and validation, failure analysis, risk management, and product approval activities for complex electromechanical systems.
\n \nResponsibilities
\n \n- Develop and execute comprehensive product reliability plans
\n- Define verification, reliability, and performance testing strategies
\n- Develop test protocols, acceptance criteria, and engineering test procedures
\n- Lead Design FMEA and structured product-risk activities
\n- Perform root-cause and failure analysis
\n- Apply Physics of Failure principles to mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems
\n- Support accelerated life testing, stress testing, and reliability evaluation
\n- Analyze test data and field performance data
\n- Drive corrective actions and design improvements
\n- Maintain requirements traceability from customer need through test evidence
\n- Support product approval and regulatory readiness
\n- Create standardized reliability methods and test procedures
\n- Mentor engineers and technicians on reliability methods and tools
\n- Support Lean/PPI and continuous improvement initiatives
\n- Travel up to 10%
\n \nQualifications
\n \n- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
\n- 5+ years of reliability engineering, verification testing, product approval, or related engineering experience
\n- 3+ years supporting mechanical or electromechanical product development
\n- Hands-on experience developing and executing engineering test methods
\n- Strong failure-analysis and root-cause-analysis skills
\n- Experience with reliability tools such as DFMEA, DOE, ALT, HALT, or statistical analysis
\n- Experience with measurement and test equipment
\n \nPreferred Experience
\n \n- HVAC/R, refrigeration, or thermal systems
\n- UL, IEC, NSF, Energy Star, DIN, or similar regulated product testing
\n- Minitab, Reliasoft, or similar reliability-analysis tools
\n- Data acquisition and automated test systems
\n- Accelerated life testing
\n \nRelevant military test, evaluation, systems engineering, quality assurance, or reliability experience is encouraged.
