Infusion Registered Nurse

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced oncology infusion setting. This individual will administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, perform comprehensive patient assessments, and collaborate closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery.

The ideal candidate has strong oncology infusion experience, excellent IV skills, and is comfortable working across multiple clinic locations within the Webster market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusion treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments while monitoring for adverse reactions and complications.

• Establish and maintain venous access, including peripheral IV starts, implanted ports, and PICC lines.

• Access, flush, and maintain central venous access devices according to best practices.

• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.

• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the EMR.

• Collaborate with oncologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and clinic staff to coordinate patient care.

• Maintain compliance with safety standards, infection control practices, and oncology-specific protocols.

• Respond appropriately to infusion-related emergencies and changes in patient condition.

Skills and Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Minimum of 2+ years of oncology infusion nursing experience preferred.

• Experience administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.

• Current ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card required. (can acquire after getting offer)

• Strong peripheral IV insertion skills.

Experience with central line management, including Ports and PICC lines.

• Current BLS certification. - OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification.

• Prior experience in an outpatient oncology infusion center.

• Experience working with high-volume oncology patient populations.
