Travel Nursing Job Details Position: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Tele RN) Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract Location: Des Moines, Iowa 50314 Start Date: November 1, 2026 Contract Duration: Approximately 26 weeks, through May 1, 2027 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750–$1,840 Schedule: 36 hours per week Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday Work Setting: On-site acute-care hospital, Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Requirements Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Iowa At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical Telemetry nursing experience Demonstrated ability to care for adult medical-surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and clinical documentation skills Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotations Successful completion of required competency validation, employment screening, and facility onboarding requirements Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments, identify changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms within the scope of practice and follow appropriate clinical protocols Administer medications and treatments safely while evaluating patient responses Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge plans Maintain accurate, timely documentation and support safe transitions of care Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and a respectful, patient-centered care environment Apply now for this Medical-Surgical Telemetry travel nursing opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa.
