About the Role:

ComForCare Home Health Care (North San Diego) is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Dementia Caregiver to join their team in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting for clients with dementia
• Implement dementia-specific care techniques to support cognitive engagement and emotional well-being
• Monitor and document changes in client behavior, mood, and health status
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and medication reminders
• Offer companionship and meaningful activities tailored to the client's abilities and interests
• Communicate effectively with family members and care team regarding client progress and concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment by identifying and reducing fall or injury risks

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or CNA - dementia care experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Alzheimer's disease, dementia stages, and memory care best practices
• Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to handle challenging behaviors with calm, person-centered approaches
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must pass background check and reference verification

Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
