We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing manufacturing organization in the Murfreesboro area. This is a highly visible, hands-on role with significant ownership of cost accounting, inventory, month-end close, financial controls, reporting, and process improvement.

This opportunity is particularly well suited for an accountant who understands the connection between the plant floor and the financial statements and enjoys building stronger processes, improving data accuracy, and providing meaningful financial insight to operational leadership.

What You'll Do

• Lead key cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and production cost tracking.
• Perform detailed material, labor, and overhead variance analysis and work with operations to identify root causes.
• Own significant portions of the month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, account analysis, and financial reporting.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventories, and related reconciliation processes.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls around inventory, costing, revenue, expenses, and transactional accounting.
• Improve and standardize accounting workflows across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, and production accounting.
• Partner closely with operations and supply chain leadership to ensure financial reporting accurately reflects business activity.
• Develop reporting around product profitability, margins, cost trends, and operational drivers.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and financial analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve ERP utilization, data integrity, cost tracking, and reporting efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful manufacturing accounting exposure.
• Strong hands-on experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting.
• Knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, COGS, and manufacturing financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Ability to develop and improve accounting controls and processes.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems.
• Ability to translate financial and operational data into practical business insights.
• Comfortable working in an evolving environment where processes and systems continue to be strengthened.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred, but not required.
