System Administrator 1 – Columbia Technology Partners Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator 1 to support the implementation, maintenance, and day‑to‑day operations of IT systems across enterprise environments. This role focuses on mission operations sustainment, including system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining operational stability across Linux‑based environments. The candidate will provide hands‑on support for infrastructure, assist with performance monitoring, and help resolve issues in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution Monitor system performance and ensure reliability across servers, storage, and network devices Configure and maintain Linux‑based operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, Ubuntu) Support OS installation, file systems, TCP/IP networking, and software deployment Assist with troubleshooting system and application issues using Bash scripting and standard tools Support system monitoring and alerting using tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, and Grafana Work with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Salt, Ansible) Collaborate using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git‑based repositories Support performance tuning and capacity planning Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (5 additional years of experience may substitute) Minimum 3 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent) Experience with Linux system administration, including OS installation, networking, and troubleshooting Familiarity with monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Ansible, Bash) Requirements U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants All applicants and employees are subject to random drug testing in accordance with Executive Order 12564 Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a security background investigation and polygraph Certification requirements: DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate polygraph Benefits Medical: 3 superior plans, in‑network and out‑of‑network options Vision and dental: free to employee, paid in full by CTP Retirement: 401(k) with 6% company contribution PTO and leave: generous paid time off, jury duty, bereavement, and military leave Career growth: up to $10,000 for approved career‑related learning, training, and tuition Life and AD&D insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability: zero cost to employee Profit‑sharing bonus: end‑of‑year cash added to your bottom‑line Referral bonus program: tiered incentive ranging from $7,000 to $20,000 for successful referrals Salary: $105,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year Columbia Technology Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
