Occupational Therapist Supervisor Health, Wellness and Ancillary Coordinator Work Site: Central Consolidated Administrative Complex/District Schools Summary: Educationally relevant evaluation of students referred for OT testing, preparation of written assessment, provisionof occupational therapy services including environmental adaptations, procurement and use of equipment and assistive technology necessary to assist the student to achieve educational outcomes, instruction and delegation of programs necessary for the prevention of increased disability wherever possible. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Knowledge of disabling conditions and their effects on sensory, motor, psychological, and cognitive/academic development of students with special needs. Knowledge of local, federal and state regulations, procedures and timeliness pertaining to the provision of occupational therapy services in the school setting. Knowledge of evidenced based practice, treatment procedures and research relevant to providing therapy services in the school setting. Ability to select, administer, and interpret appropriate assessment instruments relevant to the school setting, taking into consideration the student's age, educational needs, and developmental level. Ability to assess school functional performance of students with disabilities. Ability to engage in consensus decision making as an IEP team member. Ability to plan and implement intervention strategies compatible with classroom learning, using direct and indirect service delivery models. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written language with educational personnel, administrators, parents, and community members. Ability to form educationally relevant goals based on assessment and intervention results. Ability to evaluate and modify goals based on educational outcomes. Provide services to special education students determined eligible through the IEP process. Direct therapy services aimed at prevention of secondary impairments associated with the student's disability. Develop compensatory motor skills. Provide recommendations to be carried out in the classroom. Assess student's progress toward IEP goals and objectives. Provide supervision to qualified C.O.T.A. (Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant) providing services in the schools. Conduct educationally relevant assessment of students referred through the special education process. Participate in program planning for individual students. Demonstration of the ability to delegate tasks and manage caseload. Conduct evaluations as required for identification of eligibility and maintenance of occupational therapy services, as appropriate. Interpret the results of evaluations and summarize the findings in an educationally relevant written report. Serve as a member of the IEP team in determining need for services. Provide information to the IEP team to assist in the IEP development process for initial, annual, and triennial meetings within legal federal and state timelines. Involve parents in the IEP team process, the decision making and delivery of services. Accept other responsibilities and duties assigned by supervisor. Support district and school efforts to keep CCSD safe and secure. Complete and comply with all required trainings annually. Adhere to NM Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession (NMAC 6.60.9.8). Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position. Minimum Qualifications: NM PED Occupational Therapist K-12 license (903) Board certification by the State of NM Occupational Therapy Knowledge of Dine language, culture, and history preferred Good communication skills and customer service skills Physical/Job Requirements: Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, driving a vehicle, traveling long distances, writing, typing, word processing, reading, researching information, and effective communication skills.
