Job Summary Payroll and Benefits Specialist responsible for full‑cycle payroll administration and end‑to‑end management of benefits and leave programs in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Process full‑cycle payroll including new hires, terminations, status changes, tax updates, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposits. Prepare month‑end payroll reports, reconcile accounts, and process year‑end reporting (W‑2, W‑2C, 1099‑MISC). Maintain accurate payroll records for sick time, vacation, and accrued leave. Respond to employee payroll queries regarding deductions, final payments, and accruals. Assist with the development and implementation of payroll practices, policies, and procedures. Facilitate open enrollment, new‑hire and terminated employee benefit management, qualifying life events, leave management and COBRA management. Assist employees with enrollment in medical, dental, vision, voluntary benefits, and 401(k) plans. Manage leave processes from initial notice to return‑to‑work for FMLA, military leave, short‑term disability, and state‑specific leaves. Oversee Reasonable Accommodation (RAP) and Religious Accommodation (RAR) requests and ensure compliance with federal and state laws. Maintain knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA, ACA) and preserve confidentiality of all medical documentation. Provide timely, customer‑service oriented responses to inquiries from employees and internal departments. Required Qualifications 4‑6 years of experience in payroll and/or benefits administration. Strong understanding of fiscal procedures, tax/wage laws, and benefits and leave requirements (FMLA, ADA, ACA). Exceptional multitasking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Proficiency with Google Suite and payroll/time‑keeping software. Background and credit check review required. Professionalism: ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle confidential information with discretion. Eligible to work in the U.S. and must be able to perform the essential functions of the position. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources. SHRM‑CP or specialized training in payroll or FMLA/leave administration. Previous experience in a fast‑paced environment or military background. Compensation & Benefits Annual salary: $77,361.67 – $87,361.67. 401(k) plan. Medical, dental, and vision benefits.
