Job Description
The Production Associate supports cradle-to-grave manufacturing of magnet wire products in a highly automated, clean, and temperature-controlled facility. This role focuses on material handling, operating and monitoring fully automated production lines, and ensuring products meet detailed quality specifications for automotive customers. The position requires strong attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to work independently on 12-hour shifts within a modern, growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Stage and organize raw materials, feeding wire into production lines to maintain continuous operations.
- Set up and operate automated machinery by reading and interpreting specification sheets.
- Monitor production using HMI systems, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate complex problems to minimize downtime.
- Perform in-process quality checks, collect samples, and document production updates.
- Use overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials and finished goods safely.
- Inspect products visually and with basic measurement tools to ensure specifications are met.
- Support the full wire production process, including shaping, coating, curing, and spooling.
- Maintain strict cleanliness and organization standards in a controlled production environment.
- Follow all safety procedures, including working at heights and using proper equipment.
- Multitask across production, material handling, and quality responsibilities independently.
- Assist with general production tasks such as assembly, packaging, and inspection.
- Demonstrate reliability, strong attendance, and professionalism in a customer-facing environment.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement, expanding skills and responsibilities over time.
Essential Skills
- Experience in general labor, production, manufacturing, warehouse, or construction environments, with the ability to translate those skills to automated manufacturing.
- Experience in general labor, manufacturing, warehouse, or construction; able to adapt to automated production environments.
- Ability to read and understand work orders and specifications in English.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs throughout 12-hour shifts.
- Comfortable working at heights and in industrial environments.
- Willing to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule (days or nights).
- Open to forklift training; prior experience preferred but not required.
- Mechanically inclined with aptitude to learn and operate machinery.
- Ability to operate/monitor automated equipment and use HMI systems.
- Basic troubleshooting skills with judgment to escalate issues when needed.
- Experience with quality inspection and use of basic measurement tools.
- Able to perform production tasks (assembly, packaging, loading, inspection).
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards, especially in automotive environments.
- Self-motivated with ability to work safely and independently.
- Reliable work history demonstrating consistency and commitment.
- Willingness to multitask, maintain cleanliness, and support facility organization.
- Professional demeanor when working in customer-facing production environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a machine operator, machine operator helper, or production operator.
- Prior forklift certification or forklift operating experience.
- Experience with general production, assembly lines, or manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with hand tools, tape measures, and basic mechanical tools.
- Experience with packaging, packing, loading, and warehouse operations.
- Experience in quality inspection or quality-focused roles in manufacturing.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in working with automated equipment and machinery.
- Experience reading blueprints or technical documents is beneficial.
- Prior lead or supervisory experience in manufacturing can support faster advancement into lead-level roles.
- Strong soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
- Openness to training and development, especially for candidates with less direct production experience.
Available Shifts & Pay
- 1st shift: 8am-8pm, on a 2/2/3 schedule - $21.11
- 3rd shift: 8pm-8am, on a 2/2/3 schedule - $22.36

Work Environment
The role is based in a new, highly automated production building that closely resembles a clean room, designed to support regulated environments and automotive customers. The 700 building is temperature controlled, very clean, and less industrial in feel, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail, cleanliness, and self-motivation. Automated lines run continuously and handle the full process of shaping, enameling, curing, and spooling magnet wire, with operators primarily focused on material handling, monitoring, and quality checks. The facility uses overhead cranes and forklifts for moving raw materials and finished spools, and employees are trained to operate this equipment safely. Work involves using grated stairs to access upper levels and requires comfort working at moderate heights. Shifts follow a 2/2/3 schedule, with 12-hour shifts available on first shift (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and third shift (8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.). The environment is structured, safety-focused, and quality-driven, with on-site automotive customers observing operations, encouraging professionalism and consistent high standards.
