Walk-in Physician Clinic Services - Gallup, NM

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Walk-in Clinic Physician to provide high-quality, patient-centered medical care in a fast-paced outpatient setting located in Gallup, NM 87301 . The physician will deliver comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions for patients of all ages presenting for same-day or unscheduled care. This role emphasizes efficient clinical decision-making, preventive care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and timely services.

Key Responsibilities

Walk-in / Outpatient Clinical Services

Provide timely medical assessment and treatment for patients presenting with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and chronic condition exacerbations.

Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.

Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies as appropriate.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.

Provide preventive care, health screenings, and patient education on wellness and disease prevention.

Patient Care & Education

Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and self-care strategies.

Promote adherence to prescribed treatment plans and follow-up appointments.

Ensure culturally sensitive and patient-centered communication.

Collaboration & Coordination

Work closely with nursing staff, medical assistants, and allied health professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care.

Refer patients to primary care providers, specialists, or emergency services when clinically indicated.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings.

Administrative & Professional Responsibilities

Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations.

Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities.

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.

Completion of an accredited residency program in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.

Active, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of New Mexico.

DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances.

Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic skills, and patient communication abilities.

Preferred Skills
