Senior Tax Accountant

Position Overview The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of tax returns, assisting with tax planning and consulting engagements, communicating directly with clients, and working closely with firm partners on complex tax matters. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review individual, corporate, S corporation, partnership, trust, nonprofit, and estate tax returns Assist with tax projections, tax planning, and strategic tax-saving opportunities Respond to notices and correspondence from the IRS, FTB, EDD, and CDTFA Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, planning opportunities, and information requests Collaborate closely with partners on tax planning and consulting engagements Review financial statements, general ledgers, and accounting records for accuracy and tax reporting purposes Research federal and multi-state tax issues as needed Support the firm’s commitment to high-quality client service and timely, accurate work Qualifications Candidates must have at least five years of tax accounting experience in a professional CPA firm environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field Minimum of five years of professional tax accounting and tax preparation experience Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax laws Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a professional environment Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Microsoft 365 Proficiency with CCH Axcess Compensation and Benefits Clarity Group Financial offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support both professional success and work-life balance.
