Housing Compliance Specialist Part Time Saint Louis, MO, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1057 Salary Range: $35.00 To $35.00 Hourly Job Title: Housing Compliance Specialist Job Type: Part time Job Status: Hourly, Non Exempt Reports to: Director of Programs Position Summary The Housing Compliance Specialist supports case managers and program leadership by maintaining housing compliance records, coordinating certifications, and preparing required reports. This is an administrative, non-client-facing role. Case managers gather information and obtain participant signatures; the specialist reviews and processes documentation, identifies missing items, and tracks completion. Key Responsibilities Maintain compliance files, renewal calendars, tracking logs, and supporting documentation for assigned housing program. Begin annual recertification and lease-renewal workflows approximately 120 days before due dates; prepare forms, review income and asset documentation submitted by case managers, complete required calculations, and track outstanding items. Give case managers clear documentation requirements, return incomplete submissions for correction, and verify required participant, owner, and landlord signatures before closing a file. Enter and maintain accurate move-in, move-out, transfer, rent, subsidy, and certification data in applicable property-management and funder systems. Prepare and submit assigned monthly, quarterly, annual, and requested reports, vouchers, occupancy reports, utility documentation, and subsidy requests by deadline. Support LIHTC, HUD, MHDC, CoC, DMH, and other applicable grant and contract compliance requirements. Prepare documentation for monitoring visits, inspections, financial reviews, and audits; respond to document requests and maintain an audit-ready filing system. Coordinate administratively with case managers, Finance, Facilities, landlords, inspectors, auditors, and funding partners to resolve documentation and compliance issues. Stay current on applicable program rules, agency procedures, confidentiality requirements, and fair housing standards; complete required compliance training. Perform other related administrative compliance duties within the scheduled hours of the position. Qualifications Experience in affordable housing compliance, property management, or housing-program administration; LIHTC experience strongly preferred. Working knowledge of certifications, income and asset verification, leases, subsidy documentation, and government-funded housing requirements. Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage recurring deadlines independently. Comfort using property-management software, funder portals, Microsoft Word, and Excel; OneSite or RealPage experience preferred. Ability to review sensitive records accurately, maintain confidentiality, communicate clearly in writing, and collaborate with case managers and internal departments. Relevant housing compliance certification or training preferred; equivalent experience considered. Working Conditions This position has no direct reports and does not provide case management, intake, transportation, or other direct participant services. Work is primarily administrative and is expected to be completed within a regular schedule totaling 16 hours per week with flexibility as workload demands. Supervisory Responsibility: none Physical and Environmental Requirements: Ability to lift and carry at least 10 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Work Environment: This position operates in a professional environment.This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day,although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
