Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support students in a dynamic educational environment by joining a post-secondary transition program as a 1:1 paraprofessional. This contract opportunity is ideal for compassionate, attentive professionals eager to make a meaningful difference. Working near Beaverton, OR, you'll assist a high-needs student throughout their school day, providing essential guidance and encouragement in both classroom and transportation settings. The daily schedule runs from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, and you'll accompany the student on the bus, ensuring consistency and comfort during their commute.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role, especially in school settings
- Comfortable providing 1:1 support to high-needs students, including those with disabilities or special requirements
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with a team that includes another paraeducator and a special education teacher
- Willingness and capability to assist with transportation duties by riding the bus with the student
- Strong communication skills to keep teachers and parents informed
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the assigned student throughout the school day, helping with academic tasks, daily routines, and social skills
- Maintain a safe, inclusive environment tailored to the student's individual needs
- Collaborate with classroom staff to reinforce educational strategies and behavior plans
- Provide supervision and assistance during bus rides to and from school
- Contribute to ongoing communication between educators, specialists, and families
