Be a part of our dynamic team and take your career to the next level with Pandya Medical Center!Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesScheduling patient appointmentsAnswers incoming calls within three ringsProvide excellent customer service to patients and family members.Communicate in a manner consistent with positive patient relations.Independently recognize, interpret, and evaluate situations and their level of urgency.Update patient demographicsVerify patient account and insurance information.Manage and respond answering service messages and requestsCollecting balances, if not collected, advise the balance will be due at the time of service.Verify Eligibility, if there is an issue with eligibility, obtain updated information while scheduling appointment.If requested provider not available, offers to accommodate on another provider scheduleKeeps record of number of calls managed and addressed to the highest customer satisfaction.Assists in distribution of faxes and scans throughout the day in EMR.Scans reports / paperwork as needed into the EMR.Informs manager of any problems and possible alternative solutions.Maintains a clean work areaPapers are filed and or stored in orderly fashionOther Miscellaneous Tasks Could IncludeAssist with the orientation and training of other employees.Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Providers, Office Managers, and/or Scheduling Supervisor.Traveling to other locations as neededKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of customer service principles and techniques.Knowledge of computerized scheduling systems.Knowledge of common office computer programs; Word, Excel, Internet.Knowledge of healthcare EMR preferred.Skill in communicating effectively with patients, clinics, and coworkers.Ability to multitask effectively.Ability to communicate calmly and compassionately in a high-volume call center.Adheres to all applicable HIPAA laws and the Pandya Medical Center Confidentiality Statement.Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.Education and Experience RequiredMinimum High School DiplomaExperience working with the public; ability to demonstrate strong communication and customer service skillsPrevious medical practice experience strongly preferredSalary range: $18.00 - 20.00/hrBenefit Eligibility - After 90 day waiting periodAetna Health insuranceAetna Dental and Vision plansAflac Supplemental insurance plans401K match plan with up to 4% by Pandya Medical CenterPaid Time Off
