Youth Academy Soccer Coach

Location: Wilmington, NC (relocation assistance provided)

Position Overview

Superb Futbol Club is seeking an experienced and passionate Youth Academy Soccer Coach to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background coaching competitive club soccer , preferably at the Youth Academy level, and a genuine passion for developing young players.

This role will focus on developing players' technical abilities, tactical understanding, confidence, competitiveness, and character while creating a positive and engaging environment where young athletes can grow and enjoy the game.

Increased pay negotiable with coaching licenses.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead high-quality, age-appropriate training sessions for Youth Academy players.
• Develop players' technical skills, including dribbling, passing, receiving, finishing, defending, and ball control.
• Teach tactical concepts, positioning, decision-making, spacing, and game awareness.
• Utilize small-sided games and competitive activities to encourage creativity and problem-solving.
• Provide individualized coaching and constructive feedback to support player development.
• Prepare players and teams for league games, tournaments, showcases, and other competitive events.
• Monitor player development and identify areas for continued improvement.
• Create a positive, challenging, and supportive training environment.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, confidence, sportsmanship, and a strong work ethic.
• Serve as a positive role model for young athletes both on and off the field.
• Communicate professionally with players, parents, and other coaching staff.
• Collaborate with other Superb Futbol Club coaches to maintain consistency in training and player development.
• Follow all club policies regarding player safety, conduct, training, and competition.
• Represent Superb Futbol Club professionally at practices, games, tournaments, and club events.

Required Qualifications

• Must have previous experience coaching competitive club soccer.
• Youth Academy-level coaching experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of youth soccer development and age-appropriate coaching methods.
• Demonstrated ability to coach and develop young players.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create an energetic, positive, and competitive training environment.
• Strong organizational skills and reliability.
• Passion for soccer and youth player development.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and motivate players of varying skill levels.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening and comply with club safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• USSF, United Soccer Coaches, or other recognized coaching certification.
• Previous experience coaching players ages 6–11.
• Competitive playing experience at the club, collegiate, professional, or equivalent level.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience coaching both soccer and futsal is a plus.

The ideal candidate is an experienced club soccer coach who understands how to develop young players in a structured and competitive environment. They should be energetic, patient, dependable, and able to connect with young athletes while maintaining high standards.

The coach should be passionate about helping players improve not only as soccer players, but also as teammates and individuals. A strong emphasis should be placed on technical development, decision-making, confidence, competitiveness, teamwork, and character .
