A healthcare facility is seeking experienced pharmacists with a strong background in inpatient pharmacy practice to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care across two hospital campuses. This contract opportunity involves coverage of all shifts on a rotating schedule with a goal of consistent scheduling blocks where possible.

Locations:

• Two hospital campuses in the Indiana region, each with over 600 licensed beds and an average daily census of approximately 300 patients combined.

Position Details:

• One pharmacist position available at each facility.
• Flexible schedule covering approximately 40 hours per week for a period of about three months.
• Rotating shifts including early morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight hours.
• Coverage includes every other weekend rotations with preference for blocks of consistent shifts.
• Order entry utilizes Epic system experience preferred; familiarity with Omnicell automation is advantageous but not mandatory.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Indiana state pharmacist license required.
• Prior inpatient pharmacy experience mandatory.
• Comfortable working in diverse specialty areas such as Med/Surg, Cardiac, Neuro, ICU, and Oncology.
• Ability to accurately verify and process medication orders, maintain pharmacy security including controlled substances, and oversee technician-prepared medications.
• Candidates must comply with pre-employment requirements including HIPAA training, background and drug screenings, and vaccinations (TB, MMR, Flu, COVID plus booster).

Responsibilities:

• Fill and verify medication orders and ensure accuracy of patient information.
• Maintain security protocols for pharmacy operations and controlled substances.
• Provide oversight and support to pharmacy technicians involved in medication preparation, dispensing, restocking automated dispensing machines, and preparing IV medications.
• Complete a two-week orientation period before assignment start date to gain familiarity with order verification and centralized pharmacist duties.
