Spokane - Direct Support Professional (DSP / Caregiver) House Lead

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, Direct Support Professionals (DSP) house Leads provide support to program participants, fostering community integration and creating a safe, nurturing environment. DSPs work the shift assigned by the Program Supervisor or Site Supervisor. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Interact with clients and provide informal counseling; support problem‑solving. Support day‑to‑day needs including personal hygiene, food preparation, housekeeping, shopping, and monitor health needs. Supervise medication and keep medication records. Assist participants with accessing community outings and operate agency vehicle as needed. Assist with grocery shopping. Complete required written and digital documentation: behavior tracking, incident reports, financial records. Assist with medical needs: vital signs, transferring, turning, positioning, tube feeding. Operate necessary equipment such as Hoyer lift, shower chairs, suction machines, medicine crusher. Provide positive behavior support to clients. Who We Are Looking For Someone who treats participants with dignity and promotes their decision‑making rights. Knowledge of personal care, emotional support, and medical administration practices. Physically able to support clients with showering, toileting, feeding, dressing, and transferring. Capacity to motivate, develop, and provide instructional support to clients. Basic computer skills (laptop, desktop, or tablet). Job Requirements At least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED. Washington State Driver’s license acceptable for coverage on Alpha’s insurance plan. Background inquiry clearance from an authorized state agency. At least 6 months of experience in supported living or a long‑term care setting. Current certification in First Aid and CPR, NAR (or CNA/HCA), and Nurse Delegation Core Training, or ability to obtain or renew within 4 weeks of hire. Starting Wage $23.10 per hour. Pay Transparency This position starts at $23.10 per hour and can earn up to $27.70 per hour through annual step increases. Higher starting rate available for applicants with qualifying experience and required certifications. DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL LEAD (DSP Lead) Paid, on‑the‑job training is offered. Six months or more experience as a DSP or other leadership role is required. An NAR, CNA, or HCA license is highly desired but not required. DSP Lead Duties Develop and maintain activity calendars. Prepare and maintain property inventory records. Develop grocery lists and assign staff for grocery shopping. Monitor home status and address maintenance requests. Support new hires and provide peer coaching. Review clothing and hygiene supplies for repairs or replacements. Verify EBT food purchases are properly labeled and stored.
