Toledo Museum of Art

Job Title: Director of Finance

Deadline to Apply: 12:00pm Eastern on August 31, 2026 or until post is removed

Since our founding in 1901, the Toledo Museum of Art has earned a global reputation for the quality of our collection, our innovative and extensive education programs, and our architecturally significant campus. Thanks to the benevolence of its founders, as well as the continued support of its members, TMA remains a privately endowed, non-profit institution and opens its collection to the public, free of charge.

At the Toledo Museum of Art, we are dedicated to fulfilling our mission of integrating art into the lives of people and our commitment to cultivating an organizational culture where every individual feels valued, inspired, respected, and empowered. We believe fostering such a culture requires everyone to work daily at positively enhancing the experience of our team members.

SUMMARY

The Director of Finance is an executive finance leader responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, business model innovation, and forward-looking partnership across the Museum. The ideal candidate will be both rigorous with financial accounting and growth-oriented in approaching the Museum's business and operating model.

The Director of Finance directly leads the Museum's Finance Department and partners closely with the Chief Development Officer and the Director & CEO, as well as other senior leaders, to strengthen financial planning, maximize philanthropic impact, evaluate emerging revenue opportunities, and support innovative models that advance the Museum's mission. The Director of Finance works closely with the leadership team, departmental leaders, and the Board of Directors to shape the financial and operational expectations for the museum and to oversee execution against those expectations.
