Architectural Designer – Semiconductor Tool Install

Location: Boise, ID
Onsite Preferred | Hybrid Available | Remote Considered for Highly Qualified Candidates

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Designer with semiconductor tool install experience to support a major semiconductor manufacturing project. This position is focused on the development and production of tool installation design packages and is not a BIM Modeler or BIM Coordinator position.

The ideal candidate has direct experience producing semiconductor tool install drawings and understands the architectural requirements associated with installing manufacturing equipment within cleanroom and sub-fab environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce architectural tool install design packages , including plans, sheets, details, and supporting construction documentation.
• Support architectural scope associated with cleanroom wall and floor cutouts, sub-fab penetrations, waffle slab penetrations, equipment layouts, and tool matrix coordination .
• Coordinate architectural requirements with tool layouts and multidisciplinary tool install design packages.
• Review tool installation requirements and translate them into accurate, constructible design documentation.
• Coordinate with mechanical, process, electrical, structural, and other tool install disciplines to resolve design interfaces.
• Review existing conditions, design information, tool requirements, and construction constraints.
• Open, navigate, and understand 3D coordination models using applications such as Navisworks, Forma, or similar model-viewing platforms.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate comments, field conditions, and project changes into design packages.
• Support drawing revisions, design clarifications, and construction-related design updates.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across tool install drawings and documentation.

Qualifications

• Previous semiconductor tool install design production experience required .
• Experience producing construction/design packages including plans, sheets, details, layouts, and related documentation .
• Understanding of architectural scope associated with semiconductor tool installation, including cleanroom and sub-fab penetrations, wall/floor openings, equipment layouts, and tool coordination .
• Ability to read and interpret multidisciplinary construction and engineering drawings.
• Ability to open and understand 3D models using Navisworks, Forma, or similar viewing applications .
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills.
• Experience working in semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, or advanced manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
• 3D BIM modeling experience is a plus but not required .

Work Arrangement

Onsite in Boise is strongly preferred. Hybrid arrangements may be available for qualified candidates, including a potential 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotation . Temporary relocation assistance may also be available.

Highly qualified candidates may be considered for remote work when appropriate. Candidates with relevant semiconductor/tool install experience from Upstate New York, Dallas, Chandler/Ocotillo, Santa Clara, Hillsboro, and other major semiconductor markets are encouraged to apply.

Project

This is a long-term semiconductor tool install design opportunity with an anticipated duration of at least one year . The project is actively hiring and qualified candidates can start as soon as available.
