Based in Park City, UT, Triumph Geared Solutions is a leading independent aerospace gear and gear box supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 200 employees. The Company's key products and services include power transmission systems, integrated gearbox design and builds, airframe mounted accessor drives (AMAD's), engine mounted accessory drives (EMAD's), rotorcraft transmissions, turboshaft internal gearboxes, emergency power gearboxes, and large complex aero gears for both OE and aftermarket/spares end markets. Park City, UT lies east of Salt Lake City in the western state of Utah. Framed by the craggy Wasatch Range, it's bordered by the Deer Valley Resort and the huge Park City Mountain Resort, both known for their ski slopes.Overview Triumph is looking for a Sr. Financial Controller (Accounting) to be responsible for providing financial support to Gears Solutions Division in Park City, UT, and Macomb, MI location. The incumbent of the role can be based out of either location. This position will be a key business partner and will interact very closely with Operations leaders and executives, as well as the local accounting team to drive business decisions and provide analysis and recommendations on key strategic initiatives that are important to the success of the business. This position will also lead the local teams of accounting resources to be responsible for high-level accounting, managerial accounting, and oversee the financial activities of the company. As head of the accounting department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting including billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.ResponsibilitiesReview analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or company progress toward stated goals and objectivesDirects the work of the accounting department in performing A/P, A/R, inventory, month-end closing, general ledger maintenance, capital appropriations, and planning process.Recommends economic strategies, objectives and policies for company.Maintain documented system of accounting policies and operationsLead both the short and long-range financial planning processes, including capital planningCollaborate with operations leaders to build an insightful and strategic long-term plan and Annual Operating Plan that achieves the business goalsActively support the monthly financial forecasting process to build the lines of business strategy to ensure that financial objectives are met.Provide insightful recaps and analysis and present findings to leadership to guide future strategic decisions for the businessServes as liaison to corporate finance/accounting. Prepares or directs the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.Oversees and directs inventory costing, purchasing, real estate, property, and liability insurance activities.Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.Arranges for audits of company's accounts. Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies including compliance with government cost accounting regulations.Prepares proposals and assists in contract negotiations for products produced for the US Government.Other various duties as necessary or assigned.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Master's Degree preferred)Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.8-10 years of experience in public/private accounting required; with at least 3 years within a manufacturing environment.Experience overseeing monthly/quarterly/annual close processes.Strong financial reporting and compliance background.Ability to oversee audits, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.Experience managing accounting teams.Proficient in spreadsheet and financial applications Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong computer skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.High level cost accounting knowledge.High attention to detail.Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.Additional InformationAll Positions at Triumph Geared Solutions require access to information or technology that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and other US government security regulations.
