Job Title: Accountant / CPA

Location: Secaucus, NJ

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support general accounting, financial reporting, tax, audit, reconciliations, month-end close, and compliance activities. We are open to candidates at different experience levels based on qualifications:

• Accountant: 2+ years of relevant accounting experience;
  CPA is not required.
• CPA/Senior-Level: Active CPA license with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting reports.
• Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Support or lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Assist with federal and state tax compliance and reporting.
• Support internal and external audits and prepare required documentation.
• Investigate account discrepancies and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Monitor internal controls and identify accounting/process issues.
• Work with auditors, tax professionals, and internal stakeholders.
• Support accounting process improvements and automation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• CPA is not required for candidates with 2+ years of experience.
• For senior-level candidates: Active CPA license and 10+ years of accounting experience required.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles .
• Experience with financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Exposure to tax compliance and financial audits.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with an ERP/accounting system such as NetSuite , SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public accounting or CPA firm experience.
• Big 4 or national accounting firm experience.
• Experience with SOX/internal controls.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience in technology, engineering services, consulting, or professional services.
• Experience leading accounting, audit, tax, or financial reporting activities.
