Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.This is CaterpillarAs the Finance Director for Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division (COGMD) Strategic Services and Aftermarket Growth, you will lead a team providing essential business information, strategic counsel and business support to senior divisional management (General, Product, Service and Business Development) in the development, refinement and execution of a divisional strategy that drives profitable growth in the services and aftermarket business. Your team will also provide financial analysis and business support for all significant investments made by COGMD to drive profitable growth. Emphasis will be placed on Caterpillar’s Operating & Execution (O&E) Model to drive decision-making that enhances enterprise value and performance, while positioning the division and Caterpillar for long-term success. The role reports to the Division CFO of the Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division.What You Will Do:Providing strategic counsel and support in the development and execution of a services and aftermarket growth strategy for the divisionPresenting research and analysis findings, competitor analysis, financial forecasts and key insights to the senior management, and assisting them in making strategic decisionsDeveloping rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis to support recommendations, ensuring strategic and financial soundness and alignment for any recommendationsProviding support in the development of integrated aftermarket value propositions, including analysis of competitive strategies and offerings, market economics and competitive positioningStructuring and solving business problems, collaborating and coordinating with a range of internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of growth opportunitiesDeveloping business cases in support of M&A and asset acquisition targets as requiredWorking closely with cross-functional teams on strategic projects, bringing timely and useful insight, perspective and analytical support.Understanding customer business models and requirementsCommunicating recommendations to senior management, functional, or regional staff and management in a clear, concise and impactful wayProviding continuous coaching and training to the teamDeveloping formal documentation of divisional strategy processes, as well as process monitoring and improvementPresenting research and analysis findings, competitor analysis, financial forecasts and key insights to senior management, and assisting them in making corporate and strategic decisionsMaintaining current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures providing guidance to others in businessWhat You Have (Required Skills):Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or EngineeringBusiness Acumen: Expert knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situationsFinance and Accounting: Expert knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situationsFinancial Analysis: Expert knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical materialOrganizational Governance: Extensive experience in the processes, customs, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policiesStrategic Thinking: Extensive experience in "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organizationLeadership: Extensive experience in leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get thereFinancial Forecasting and Modeling: Extensive experience in processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and resultsTop Candidates Will Also Have:MBA or Master's Degree in a business-related fieldStrong analytical skills to perform detailed financial analysis and prepare strategic plansExcellent interpersonal skills to handle sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actionAdditional Info:The primary location for this position is Houston, TXDomestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualifySponsorship is not availableInternational and Domestic travel up to 10%This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillar’s long-term incentive planAbout CaterpillarFor more than a century, Caterpillar has helped build a better, more sustainable world.
