Strategic Media Planner

Causal is searching for a qualified Strategic Media Planner, could that be you? The Strategic Media Planner will be responsible for the design, execution, and communication of the digital media plans and proposals for Causal's most important clients; including high profile candidate and electoral campaigns. Our newest Strategic Media Planner will work with Causal sales teams to understand client needs and requirements, conduct media planning research, analyze competitive activity in the marketplace, and translate learnings into actionable insights for client facing summaries and presentations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop strategic proposals for digital campaigns, with a focus on candidate and electoral advertising.
• Partner closely with internal sellers to support political clients through every stage of the campaign cycle.
• Manage client-facing communications availability in alignment with Eastern or Central Time Zone business hours.
• Review RFPs and prepare sales proposals and meeting decks.
• Assist with sales/pitch presentations by preparing key data points, findings, and relevant research.
• Coordinating with the customer, account team, support team, and technical personnel on all sides to meet customer needs.
• Identify enhancement opportunities and drive creative solutions that meet client marketing initiatives and anticipate future needs.
• Ensure a good working relationship with account and client teams to facilitate flawless execution of plans.

Key Competencies

• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to operate autonomously.
• Strong understanding of the following programmatic digital channels: display, video and connected tv.
• Familiarity with political advertising considerations, including ad policies, flight windows and fast-moving budget cycles.
• Strong understanding of data sources and technologies, such as: Syndicated Consumer (e.g. MRI, Simmons), Syndicated Sales (e.g. NielsenIQ, Circana), Media Consumption (e.g. ComScore), 1st Party (e.g. CRM), 3rd Party Measurement (e.g. Foursquare, Lucid), and Digital Ad Servers (e.g. Google Campaign Manager, The Trade Desk, DV360).
• Strong understanding of presentation software, including MS Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strategic thinker with strong planning, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to various audiences.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience and Education

• 2+ years relevant work experience, programmatic preferred.
• Political/electoral advertising experience a plus.
• Degree or relevant coursework experience.

Salary Range

The expected base salary range for this position is $62,000 to $72,000. We will take into consideration many factors including geographic location, work experience, market demands and conditions, and other job-related factors. The base pay is subject to change and will be determined based on these job-related factors.
