Role Description The Store Opening Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and tracking all workstreams involved in new store openings, including construction, equipment installation, vendors, permits, inspections, and operational readiness. This role serves as the link between leadership, contractors, suppliers, and field teams to ensure projects stay on schedule, risks are proactively managed, and each store is ready for a successful opening. Areas of Responsibility Store Opening Project Coordination Construction and Site Progress Monitoring Vendor and Contractor Management Permits, Inspections, and Regulatory Compliance Project Scheduling and Timeline Management Executive Reporting and Communication Risk Identification and Escalation Opening Readiness and Punch List Management Process Documentation and Standardization Keys Responsibilities Coordinate the execution of new store openings from project kickoff through grand opening Monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and milestone completion Coordinate equipment deliveries, installation schedules, and vendor access to project sites Manage permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements necessary for store openings Maintain and update master project schedules and proactively identify potential delays Prepare weekly executive reports including project status, risks, key decisions, and next steps Facilitate communication between contractors, suppliers, vendors, landlords, and company leadership Oversee punch list completion and ensure operational readiness prior to opening day Manage multiple projects at different phases simultaneously Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Morelos' store opening playbook and processes Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (strongly preferred), Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field Minimum 5 years of experience coordinating commercial construction, retail development, tenant improvement, or store opening projects Experience with grocery, supermarket, retail, restaurant, hospitality, or food service projects preferred Experience coordinating general contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and field installations Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, project scheduling, budgeting, and risk management Experience using project management platforms such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for project tracking and reporting Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities Preferred Qualifications Experience opening new retail, grocery, supermarket, or food service locations Knowledge of commercial construction codes, permitting processes, inspections, and OSHA requirements OSHA 30 Certification or willingness to obtain certification within the first 90 days Experience coordinating ground-up construction and major renovation projects Familiarity with municipal permitting and inspection processes in Oklahoma and/or Texas Experience managing project schedules, contractor performance, and opening readiness programs Benefits Provided by the Company Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life Insurance & Short-Term Disability 401(k) with Company Match Employee Discount Program Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays Annual Performance BonusCompetitive Compensation Package Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement (based on company policy) Opportunity to play a key role in the growth and expansion of a rapidly evolving organization Travel Frequent travel throughout Oklahoma required #J-18808-Ljbffr Supermercados Morelos
