Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for patient care in a high-acuity environment. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional care for patients of all ages, primarily focusing on geriatric and adult patients, with approximately 10% pediatric cases, which will be transferred to a specialized children's facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Handle a diverse caseload including respiratory issues, strokes, abdominal pain, cardiac conditions, and sepsis.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient treatment and care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and patient progress.
• Participate in educational programs and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent experience in emergency nursing (2 years preferred).
• Experience in high-volume emergency services with a daily visit rate of approximately 230 patients.
• Must be licensed as an RN in the state of practice (compact license accepted).
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS.
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and CEN or CPN.
• Epic charting experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to float between similar units as needed.

Work Schedule

The position requires availability to work weekends, with a commitment to at least six weekend shifts per six-week scheduling cycle. Holiday requests must be submitted in advance and are not guaranteed.
