Certified Public Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / Accountant with a strong financial background to lead and manage a small accounting office in Brookfield, CT. This role combines hands‑on accounting expertise with operational leadership and is ideal for a professional who can oversee client services while managing day‑to‑day office functions. Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations of a small accounting office, including workflow, scheduling, and staff oversight Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP Oversee tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, and small businesses Provide strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting services to clients Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring high-quality deliverables Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction Coordinate with external auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies as needed Qualifications Active CPA license (Connecticut preferred or ability to obtain) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s a plus) 5+ years of accounting or public accounting experience Prior experience managing staff or running office operations strongly preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Preferred Experience Background in financial analysis, budgeting, and business advisory services Experience working with small to mid‑sized businesses Proven ability to grow client relationships and support business development efforts Performance‑based bonuses Company benefits Continuing professional education (CPE) support How to Apply Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your leadership experience, financial expertise, and interest in managing a small office.
