Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description The Registered Nurse (RN) primarily focuses on direct patient care while demonstrating competent clinical practice. This role involves triaging patients, obtaining patient history and vital signs, and assessing patient conditions. The RN acts independently to initiate immediate care in life-threatening situations when a physician is not present, providing care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients. The position requires the performance of multiple procedures utilizing both complex and simple nursing skills and assisting physicians as needed. Comforting patients, their families, and visitors, as well as providing discharge and follow-up instructions, are essential components of the role. The RN will also respond to ambulance radios and give appropriate orders for pre-hospital care independently. The role entails working with various sophisticated equipment and managing different types of patients in a frequently stressful environment. Responsibilities 25%: Performs nursing assessments, intervenes appropriately and promptly, and participates in care planning. 25%: Assesses patients' needs regularly and delivers skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's plan of care, adhering to accepted standards of nursing practice. 20%: Processes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring follow-up on medication changes and clarifications. 15%: Evaluates the effectiveness of treatment plans and suggests changes to improve patient care. 15%: Actively participates in updating and revising treatment plans in collaboration with other team members using current information. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience. Travel experience is preferred. Epic experience is preferred. Active Michigan/MI nursing license is required.
