Trust Officer

Summary Extraco Banks is seeking an experienced Trust Officer to join our Wealth and Trust Division in Waco, Texas. The Trust Officer is responsible for the administration, oversight, and strategic management of a portfolio of complex trust and estate accounts. This individual will serve as the primary advisor to high net-worth clients and their families, providing expert guidance on trust administration, estate planning, fiduciary responsibilities, and wealth transfer strategies. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams and external advisors to deliver comprehensive wealth management experience to clients and prospects. This is an opportunity to work with a team of highly skilled professionals in the wealth management industry in a collaborative and supportive work environment Responsibilities Trust Administration: Manage a book of trust and fiduciary accounts, ensuring compliance with governing documents, applicable laws, and fiduciary standards. Interpret and apply trust and estate planning documents such as wills, revocable/irrevocable trusts, and generation-skipping trusts. Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building long-term relationships based on trust and expertise. Proactively identify clients' needs and recommend appropriate fiduciaries, investments, and wealth planning solutions. Estate and Wealth Planning: Advise clients and beneficiaries on estate and wealth transfer strategies in collaboration with legal, tax, and investment professionals. Stay current on changes in trust and estate laws, tax regulations, and fiduciary best practices. Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure that trust accounts are administered in accordance with applicable laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Participate in audits, risk reviews and compliance processes as needed. Relationship Building & Collaboration: Work closely with investment officers, financial planners, private bankers, commercial bankers, tax advisors, and legal counsel to provide holistic wealth management services. Create a network of internal and external partners with aligned goals of building long-term relationships and providing specialized solutions. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA, or similar) preferred. Certifications: CTFA (Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor), CFP, or related certification highly preferred. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in trust administration, estate planning, or private wealth management Skills: Deep knowledge of fiduciary principles, estate planning, tax law, and financial instruments. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive client relationships with discretion and professionals. Required Attributes Proven ability to grow and retain client relationships. Experience working with ultra high-net-worth individuals and family offices. Knowledgeable in estate planning law.
