Directs and maintains programs on site and through subordinate supervisors. Interviews applicants, recommends hiring and directs the training of all security personnel. Oversees day to day security operations, scheduling and regularly re-assesses the facility and security needs of Braselton campus. Manages security reporting systems, alarm/access control systems and security equipment. Maintains oversight on the Security Department budget.Minimum Job QualificationsLicensure or other certifications: Valid GA Drivers LicenseCurrent BLS Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent with at least five (5) years experience or Bachelors Degree.Minimum Experience: Minimum of five (5) years as a security officer or police officer. Assists with establishing and maintaining budget items, including operational; staffing levels, including special events and details. Assists with general duties, special instructions, incidents surrounding confrontational situations and improved customer service. Identifies each patient’s age specific needs and promotes a secure environment needed by the group. Confers with representatives of management to formulate procedures for handling special situations. Informs the manager or director regarding circumstances or situations which have or may have serious impact on the hospital.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Planning, assigning and directing work. Shift scheduling. Addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervising staff including: Interviewing, making recommendations for hiring and the training of all personnel, appraises performance by rewarding and disciplining personnel.Assesses needs, develops, implements and coordinates a security management plan; which assures that the hospital meets OSHA, NFPA, CMS, DNV, federal, state and local regulations and standards as related to security. Performs and directs safety and security rounds of the hospital, grounds and outlying buildings. Is able to utilize Electronic surveillance, alarms and CCTV systems. Ensures that subordinate officers provide escort services, traffic and parking control. Works with the risk management department to lower liability risk. Collects security related data and reports the information to the Security Manager, Security Director, Occupational Health and Risk Management. Documents incidents. Reviews and corrects subordinate incident reports. Designs, performs and assigns duties related to fire prevention, safety issues, emergency preparedness and workplace violence. Completes safety and security surveys i.e. lighting, emergency phones, alarms and monitoring systems.Assists the Security Director/Manager in developing, implementing and directing, either personally or through designated training officers, training programs to ensure that federal guidelines, state license requirements, individual and departmental, DNV and OSHA guidelines are met. These programs are done in-house or coordinated with outside agencies, accredited programs and certified instructors and includes the following topics: new hire training and orientation, crises intervention and workplace violence, Continuing education and re-certification, and liability and legal issues.Correctly utilizes and ensures staff under supervision correctly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment at all times. Insures integrity of hospital issued and staff provided personal protective equipment.Anticipated personal protective equipment for job performance: Handcuffs. ASP Baton. Tactical elbow and knee pads and padded foam shields. Safety glasses, face shields. Reflective vest and gloves. Latex gloves, masks, protective clothing. N95 face mask. Powered air purifying respirator (PAPR).
