Lead MRI Technologist – West Ashley Diagnostic Imaging Join West Ashley Diagnostic Imaging as a Lead MRI Technologist. In this outpatient imaging setting, you will combine advanced MRI expertise with exceptional patient care to deliver high-quality diagnostic exams. This role includes performing MRI scans efficiently, supporting daily operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring an outstanding patient experience. Responsibilities Complete MRI scans efficiently and effectively. Collect pertinent data about the patient and the procedure. Select the most appropriate cost-effective action plan after reviewing all pertinent data and assessing the patient’s abilities and condition. Screen patient for ferrous and RF‑sensitive material before the patient enters the magnetic field. Position and prepare patients for MRI procedures. Select appropriate immobilization devices. Review the patient’s chart and the physician’s request to determine optimal scanning parameters for the suspected pathology. Prepare and administer contrast agents in accordance with state and federal regulations. Enter necessary patient information to initiate the scan(s). Assess and monitor the patient’s physical and mental status throughout the procedure. Review images to determine if additional scans will enhance the diagnostic value of the procedure. Document diagnostic, treatment and patient data in the appropriate record in a timely, accurate, concise and complete manner. Archive images to data storage devices according to established guidelines. Maintain the highest standards of patient care possible. Implement and maintain the MedQuest Best Customer Service Program. Provide accurate explanations and instructions at a level the patient can understand. Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. Exhibit exemplary technical competence and clinical judgment. Ensure that required supplies and equipment are available. Check all equipment routinely and perform preventive maintenance when necessary. Maintain a safe environment by monitoring cryogens. Act as a preceptor for new employees. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, peers and all members of the healthcare team. Lead at least one training session per year for fellow employees. Develop at least two case studies per year to present to others in the Center or Region. Ensure the Center’s compliance with MedQuest Policy procedures, OSHA, local, state and Federal regulatory requirements. Follow radiation protection guidelines. Participate in formal training and service programs. Ensure that deadlines are met with regards to reports. Perform quality assurance activities based on established quality protocols. Document quality assurance activities and results. Maintain strict confidentiality with regard to medical records and other data. Communicate regularly with the scheduling department to maintain an understanding of Center budget and scan volumes. Establish goals with the scheduling department. Develop a system to add unscheduled patients into the timetable for scans. Cross‑train for additional modalities within the center. Complete and retain certification in MRI technology. Build education files on an outstanding or interesting case. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program. Registered ARRT (R), (MR) and preferably (CT) or certification in an additional modality performed at the center. Complete required CEU’s in a timely manner to keep certification active. Active state licensure(s), where applicable. CPR Certification is required. 0 to 4+ years of experience as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist. IV skills required. Advanced knowledge of MRI procedures and standards. Advanced skill in operation of MRI equipment. Demonstrated adequate knowledge of anatomy. Customer service background and focus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
