Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, rotating Employment Type: Travel Travel RN – Med Surg Location: Wheeling, WV Weekly Gross Pay: $2,400 Shift: Day/Night Rotation | 12-Hour Shifts Start Date: August 12, 2026 Contract Length: 13 Weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week Positions Available: 1 Position Details Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Medical Surgical Unit: Med Surg – Overflow Care Setting: Acute Care Shift: Day/Night Rotation Shift Length: 12 Hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week EMR: EPIC Experience Required: 2 Years Patient Ratio: 1:6–7 Unit Size: 30 Beds Required Certifications BLS NIHSS Patient Population Common diagnoses and patient types include: CHF COPD Cellulitis Rule-out patients Cholecystectomy patients Appendectomy patients Pneumonia Urosepsis Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) Clinical Skills & Responsibilities Telemetry monitoring, remotely monitored by monitor technicians Heparin titration based on aPTT results Intermittent BiPAP General Medical-Surgical nursing care Medication administration and patient monitoring Unit Information One charge RN on the floor, with a patient assignment Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) available on the unit No ventilator patients Intermittent BiPAP available No standby or call requirement Weekend and holiday coverage scheduled as needed, typically approximately half of the weekends Scheduling transitioning to Qgenda Floating may be required based on census; external travelers will be floated first Scrub Color: Navy Blue Important Requirements Candidates must be comfortable with a 1:7 patient ratio when census requires it. A copy of the candidate's unexpired driver's license must be provided at submission. Any licensing hits must be disclosed at the time of submission . A 50-mile radius rule applies.
