Attleboro Public Schools is hiring an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across our school buildings. Why Work for Attleboro Public Schools? Competitive union wage — $45.27/hour per our Building Trades Maintenance Mechanics' Association contract 3 weeks of paid vacation to start 16 paid holidays per year 15 paid sick days per year 3 personal days per year Longevity pay after 10 years of service $1,000 annual clothing allowance City retirement system — a defined-benefit pension most private-sector HVAC roles simply can't offer Public sector job security — stable, long-term employment with a well-established municipal employer Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Modern tools and systems Team-oriented environment — work alongside other skilled trades in a collaborative maintenance department Meaningful work — keep the learning environment safe and comfortable for thousands of students and staff every day What You'll Do Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems across district buildings Respond to and troubleshoot hot/cold calls Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules Repair/replace valves, motors, controls, switches, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, and other system components Document work in our CMMS system (Maximo) Assist with snow removal during winter months (snow blowers, tractors, shovels) Work in accordance with OSHA and district safety standards What You Bring High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Technical/trade school training or completed apprenticeship 5+ years of related commercial/industrial HVAC experience Required licenses: MA Refrigeration License, MA Pipefitters License, RSES License Strong controls experience preferred Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team Willingness to work some nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for coverage Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 lbs regularly (occasionally 40 lbs), and work in varying temperature conditions.
