Join our award-winning program management team and bring transformational project solutions to life.Your OpportunityStantec's Program Management Construction Management Group is seeking a Deputy Construction Manager / Project Manager to work on large, complex transportation construction projects with construction values more than $500M. This position requires onsite presence in Honolulu, HI.Your Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all phases of large, complex construction projects serving as a client liaison and leading project teams.Engage in the Construction Management community, mentor staff, and document lessons learned.Support recruitment by screening candidates, interviewing, and collaborating with HR on employment offers.Supervise design-phase constructability and sequencing reviews.Manage bid phase activities: pre-bid meetings, contractor inquiries, addenda issuance, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.Direct preconstruction planning, approve procedures and tools, and review contract documents for construction phase readiness.Manage multiple large, complex projects simultaneously.Oversee day-to-day construction management to ensure compliance with design, budget, and schedule; enforce contractor compliance.Act as a liaison with clients, agencies, and stakeholders; represent company at meetings and public forums.Monitor contractor schedules and address delays.Review inspection reports, material test reports, RFIs, submittals, schedules, shop drawings, change orders, and pay applications for accuracy and compliance.Coordinate activities across disciplines and resolve project issues promptly.Implement and enforce company, client, and project policies, procedures, best practices, standards, quality frameworks, and proper use of IP and reusable assets.Promote and ensure adherence to company and client health and programs.Oversee post-construction closeout, including final deliverables, punch lists, warranties, and invoicing.Your Capabilities and CredentialsHighly effective in assembling and leading project teams.Technical expert in all relevant areas of planning, analysis, construction and systems management, and understanding of various project delivery methods.Accountable for making decisions on large complex projects.Inspires project teams to higher levels of achievement.Highly effective in managing sub-consultants and equipment suppliers/vendors.Demonstrates technical skills identifying scope changes and risk management.Holds professional licensure or construction manager certification (CCM) or ability to obtain.Education and ExperienceDegree in construction management or engineering (civil) or other related engineering field with a minimum of 10-12 years of experience or technical school 2-year degree/diploma in a related program with a minimum 12-14 years of experience.Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of a wide range of medium to complex Transit projects, including Alternate Project Delivery (APD).Experience working on large complex projects with construction value more than $500M (transit experience preferred).Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for periods of time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
