ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE AND INTERFACES

Position Reports To: Director of Family Strengthening Direct Reports: Community Partners and Volunteers, as assigned Primary Interfaces : Families, Youth Members, Director of Family Strengthening, Operations and Program Leadership, General Managers, Program Managers, Community Partners, School Districts, Volunteers, and Constituents Hours: 20–25 hours per week with a consistent Tuesday–Friday schedule; weekends (as needed), alternative hours, and summer schedule adjustments may be required for special events Daily Hours Include: Tuesday–Friday 3:30 PM–7:30 PM and Weekends- Morning Hours, as needed Compensation: $21–$23 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The Family Strengthening Coordinator supports the quality, coordination, visibility, and growth of Family Strengthening services across Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Orange Coast locations. Working in collaboration with the Director of Family Strengthening, the Coordinator organizes the day-to-day delivery of classes, workshops, events, resources, and services. The role coordinates schedules, facilities, staffing, supplies, and partner participation while ensuring families can access relevant, well-publicized, and high-quality support. The Coordinator also builds relationships with community partners, school leaders, families, and Club leadership; tracks attendance and participation; prepares timely reports; and uses feedback and results to strengthen services. Success is measured by reliable program execution, meaningful family engagement, strong partnerships, accurate reporting, responsible resource use, and progress toward initiative goals.

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

Contribute to an environment of safety through the learning, implementation, and monitoring of all applicable safety practices, policies, and procedures. Promote accountability through consistent observation, adherence to safety expectations, and proactive communication with families, partners, peers, and leadership. Obtain and maintain Mandated Reporter training and complete annual Child Abuse Prevention training. Maintain required CPR and First Aid certifications and follow emergency response procedures. Report suspected child abuse in accordance with California law and organizational policy.

PROGRAM LEADERSHIP & QUALITY ASSURANCE

Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of Family Strengthening classes, workshops, events, resources, and services across assigned locations. Implement the Family Strengthening Initiative and support the introduction of programs designed to strengthen families. Work with the Director of Family Strengthening to ensure services meet established goals, objectives, and quality expectations. Coordinate facility use, schedules, staffing, equipment, supplies, and partner participation for each program or event. Collaborate with staff, volunteers, parents, partners, and stakeholders to ensure resources are accessible, relevant, publicized, and high quality. Monitor implementation, address operational concerns, and elevate issues in a timely manner. Research and evaluate best practices that can improve program quality, participation, and impact.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT & SERVICE DELIVERY

Build positive, respectful relationships with parents, caregivers, and families. Support outreach that increases awareness of available programs, resources, class, workshops, and events. Respond to family questions and concerns professionally and promptly, connecting families to the appropriate resource or team member. Coordinate services that reflect identified family needs and reduce barriers to participation. Create opportunities for families to engage with Club programs, community resources, and one another. Support an inclusive and welcoming environment at all Family Strengthening activities.

COMMUNITY & SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, school districts, school leaders, neighborhood associations, parent groups, committees, and other stakeholders. Identify prospective partners and resources that align with the Family Strengthening Initiative. Coordinate partner involvement, facility access, communications, and service logistics. Participate in community events and partnership activities that raise awareness of the Club, enhance services, or advance the mission. Maintain consistent communication with General Managers and Program Managers to confirm Club space and operational readiness. Support partner and volunteer engagement, recognition, and follow-up.

STRATEGIC PLANNING & DATA USE

Collaborate with the Director of Family Strengthening to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate all aspects of the initiative. Set and monitor ambitious, realistic goals for program results, participation, and partnership development. Track attendance, classes, workshops, services, partner activity, and family participation accurately. Compile and submit regular reports that highlight activities, results, participation, and new partnerships. Use data, family feedback, and partner input to identify needs and recommend improvements. Participate in relevant professional development, including webinars, trainings, workshops, and visits to other Clubs.

OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Complete assigned reports, deadlines, communications, and operational requirements accurately and on time. Maintain organized program files, attendance records, calendars, partner information, and supporting documentation. Coordinate the purchase, receipt, storage, and distribution of program supplies and equipment. Travel to Club locations and partner sites as required. Follow organizational systems and procedures related to facilities, equipment, outside groups, purchasing, and service delivery. Communicate barriers, changes, and emerging needs proactively to the Director of Family Strengthening. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of organizational needs.

RESOURCE & FACILITY MANAGEMENT

Support responsible management of the Family Strengthening budget and monitor revenues, expenditures, and variances with the Director of Family Strengthening. Coordinate appropriate use of Club facilities by programs, partners, volunteers, and outside groups. Ensure activity spaces, supplies, donations, and equipment are organized, available, and used safely. Operate a pallet jack when trained and required and follow all applicable equipment safety procedures. Identify facility, supply, or equipment concerns and coordinate timely resolution with the appropriate team.

MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS

Support communications that increase the visibility of Family Strengthening programs, services and activities within the Club and community. Provide success stories, program highlights, partner updates, participation information, and photos as requested and in accordance with organizational privacy requirements. Ensure outreach materials and communications are accurate, timely, family-friendly, and aligned with organizational standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 40 college units; coursework or a major in human services, social services, or a related field preferred. Minimum of one year of experience working in youth or family services. Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish and meet deadlines, and develop solutions with limited supervision. Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies inside and outside the organization. Proficiency with Office 365 and other organizational data and communication systems. Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred. Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle, and ability to travel between locations and partner sites. CPR and First Aid certifications required. Must report suspected child abuse in accordance with California law. Must be authorized to work in the United States and meet organizational screening and clearance requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position may require the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 50 pounds or more; safely operate a pallet jack when trained; drive between service locations; and perform duties in varied indoor and outdoor settings.
