Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Provides technical contribution within an area of expertise as a member of a multidisciplinary team of engineers in the Research and Development division. Leads requirement, analysis, detailed design and verification activities for a section of a complete product. Collaborates with other team members on the overall design of the final product, under the guidance of the project leader.ResponsibilitiesCompletes activities with robust performance through a plan or programApplies technical competencies in somewhat difficult situationsIdentifies technical problems and provides innovative and creative solutionsShares technical knowledge with others in the teamGenerates alternatives and takes reasonable risks while solving technical problemsGenerates detailed, high quality technical documentation to capture and communicate designsOrganizes and conducts in-depth design reviews, following and adhering to the product development processSeeks knowledge of the business, market, industry and competitive environmentCompletes assigned tasks on time with minimal supervisionUses existing tools and best practices to report and track product and process metricsInforms others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitmentsUses collaborative communication style to negotiate win-win outcomesDebate constructively and accepts ideas from othersTends to be seen as original and value-added in brainstorming sessionsGenerates alternative solutions to problems or processesComplies with the client's Quality System and all applicable FDA Medical Device Design ControlsThis role does not have supervisory responsibilityQualificationsBS Degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology10+ years of engineering experience with an emphasis on design in new product developmentStrong organizational and communication skillsProficient problem solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environmentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and Engineering softwareExperience in the medical device industry is preferredExperience with project management is preferredThrives on change and adapts to leader initiated changesAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
