Accountant

Department: Administration – Finance and Accounting Location: Louisville, KY JOB SUMMARY Accountant(s) within this organization are to ensure the local leadership team adheres to financial principles outlined by GAAP with the support of the offsite Finance and Accounting leadership. This team member will support the development and adherence of site‑specific operating procedures, payroll, inventory, billing, and accounts receivable/collections. The incumbent of this role should feel confident working independently – with experience in reconciliations, General Ledger entries, budget support, producing financial reports and analysis and closing the books. Administrative Daily/Weekly/Monthly Responsibilities Produce and submit weekly payroll reports Reconciling bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks Maintain schedules of prepaid and accrual accounts Conduct weekly AR meetings Maintain accurate customer billing and cash receipts Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization Prepare monthly income statements and balance sheet reconciliations Provide outside auditors with assistance gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit File Sales and Use Tax reporting and ensure proper adherence to applicable regulations Coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems Manage the purchasing and invoicing system Maintain knowledge of GAAP Perform other related duties as assigned Special Projects Support the annual budget process Develop processes and procedures aligning with organizational goals Transition all possible suppliers to our Purchase to Pay ordering Support annual audit as necessary Others as assigned Lead & Training Responsibilities Contribute to the development, cohesion, and productivity of the team; be receptive to new ideas and adaptable to new situations. Provide training and skills advancement to organizational team members which promotes interdepartmental growth and advancement. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in business/finance or related field preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. 3-5 Years of Accounting experience required.
