Job Overview 777/777X Flight Control System Service Engineer (Associate or Experienced) – The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a candidate in Seal Beach, CA to work directly with airline customers to address and resolve in‑service airplane system issues related to the Flight Controls System. Responsibilities Provides technical, design and informational support for basic production, product support or in-service issues. Troubleshoots basic system problems consistent with operational protocols. Supports analysis, definition and verification of basic requirements. Modifies basic requirements based on defined requirements using approved processes and tools. Creates and provides basic technical documentation (Fleet Team Digest articles, service letters, drawings, specifications, documents, data sets, design folders, test requirements documents, manuals) in accordance with engineering processes and procedures for internal reference or external delivery. Assists with the study and assessment of technology development by gathering data, supporting testing and documenting findings. Reviews technical design, analysis and production by reviewing documentation, participating in design reviews and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance. Investigates problems to provide engineering design disposition of discrepancies. Leads research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer. Designs and/or provides analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service. Works with cross‑functional teams to conduct root‑cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non‑conformances. Develops customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Conducts research on technologies for potential application to company business needs. Provides support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle. Assists other project or program team members, management and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization and company objectives. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or a non‑US equivalent qualification directly related to the work statement. Ability to work outside of standard first shift, including occasional weekend work. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of related experience (LEVEL 3). 2+ years of experience in Flight Control Systems. Experience with Boeing 7‑series airplanes. Good verbal, written communication skills and presentation experience. Experience collaborating with multiple team functions. Experience with customer support. Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience. Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally (10% of the time). Pay and Benefits Pay ranges: Associate (Level 2) $100,300 – $135,700; Experienced (Level 3) $124,100 – $167,900.
