Hatchery Manager

Responsibilities Design and oversee freshwater fish breeding programs. Monitor and maintain optimal water quality, including dissolved oxygen, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, alkalinity, hardness, and temperature. Develop feeding schedules and nutrition programs to maximize fish health and growth. Monitor fish health and identify signs of disease, parasites, or stress. Implement biosecurity and disease-prevention protocols. Maintain ponds, aeration systems, filtration equipment, pumps, and water circulation systems. Recommend stocking densities and harvest schedules. Monitor fish growth rates and reproductive performance. Maintain accurate records of water quality, breeding success, mortality, and production. Develop strategies to improve survival rates and maximize production efficiency. Advise on pond construction, habitat improvement, vegetation management, and environmental sustainability. Ensure compliance with applicable Florida aquaculture and environmental regulations. Requirements We are seeking an experienced Aquatic Biologist, Fisheries Biologist, or Marine Biologist with freshwater aquaculture experience to help develop and manage a high-quality freshwater fish breeding and grow-out operation in Central Florida.
