About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Tax to take on a pivotal role in overseeing the full tax process for its management company, investment funds, and SPVs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the global tax function, including all tax compliance, filings, and reporting. This encompasses a wide range of tasks such as managing partnership and corporate tax returns, K-1s, FATCA/CRS reporting, and various specialized filings. The role also involves overseeing external tax advisors, supporting tax accruals, and partnering with internal teams on transactions and investment structuring. The VP of Tax will have the opportunity to shape the firm's tax strategy and infrastructure, particularly in the areas of tax planning, modeling, and structuring for both onshore and offshore entities. Applicants for the VP of Tax position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' progressive tax experience, with a preference for those holding a CPA. The ideal candidate will have a background in private funds, specifically in private credit or lending strategies, and be well-versed in the unique tax considerations of this sector. Experience with complex fund structures, carried interest, GP/management company tax issues, and international tax matters is essential. The role requires a hands-on approach, the ability to work independently, and a proactive attitude towards providing input on tax strategy and deal structuring. The VP of Tax will also be expected to improve processes, controls, and technology within the tax function as the platform continues to grow.
