Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room for a hospital surgical setting requiring 2+ years of OR experience and multiple specialty competencies. Details Hospital OR department with 10 operating rooms and an endoscopy suite On-call required: approximately every 6-8 weeks for weekend call (Saturday 7am to Monday 7am) On-call required: one weeknight per week from 7pm-7a Documents surgical care in EMR Requirements Active RN license (NC or compact) required Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Minimum two years of RN experience in a surgical/OR setting required Experience required in orthopedics, total joints, spine, urology, endoscopy, general surgery, gynecology, vascular, and robotics Eye case experience preferred but not required Additional Information Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process under direction of a physician Develop and implement plans of care for surgical patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team Perform surgical instrument and supply counts, and assist with patient positioning to prevent injury Ensure proper patient identification, site marking, and surgical consent Collect, label, and coordinate delivery of specimens for testing Promote a safe, clean environment using standard precautions and infection control principles Communicate with patients and families to support care planning and continuity These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
