A global, equity-focused institutional broker-dealer and investment bank, now part of one of the largest banks in the US, is hiring a Risk Analyst at the Associate or VP level in its New York office. Base pay runs $160K to $250K depending on level, with a four-day in-office schedule in Midtown.

The seat covers market risk oversight and margin across global equities and derivatives. You will run the daily risk and margin process and build the automated reporting and controls that support it, working hand in hand with Trading, Operations, Finance, Compliance and Technology.

What you'll do

• Monitor and report VaR and stress testing results, along with scenario and sensitivity analysis, across equities and derivatives, with RWA work as applicable.
• Track exposures and concentrations against limits, and investigate and escalate breaches and emerging risks.
• Manage daily IM and VM margin and collateral processes, covering margin calls, dispute resolution, collateral eligibility and haircuts, substitutions and exception escalation.
• Apply margin methodologies including OCC SPAN and analyze the drivers behind margin changes.
• Validate positions and valuations across risk systems and trading platforms, reconcile breaks, and support UAT and system enhancements.
• Build and automate risk reporting and controls using Python, SQL and data analysis.

What you'll need

• 5 to 10 years in market risk or front office risk at a financial services firm, with direct equities and derivatives exposure.
• Strong command of VaR, stress testing and scenario analysis. RWA familiarity is a plus.
• Working knowledge of IM and VM margin methodologies and collateral processes. OCC SPAN experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with risk systems and trading platforms, including resolving position, valuation and data issues.
• Coding and modeling ability. Python or SQL strongly preferred, advanced Excel and VBA a plus.

Compensation

$160K to $250K base, with title set at Associate or VP based on experience.
