Hotel Accounting Manager

Posted 14 days ago The Renaissance Baltimore Harbor Place Hotel is hiring an Accounting Manager. The hotel accounting manager oversees the daily financial operations, accounting staff, and reporting processes of a hospitality property to ensure compliance and profitability. This position will report to the Director of Finance. Daily Operations: Manage accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll processing, and daily cash or credit card reconciliations. Financial Reporting: Prepare month-end closings, balance sheet reconciliations, trial balances, and accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the Director of Finance or Controller with annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Compliance & Auditing: Oversee internal and external audits, manage tax filings (sales, use, and occupancy taxes), and maintain internal financial controls. Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule property accounting staff while promoting cross-departmental coordination. Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. Experience: 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a supervisory or hospitality industry background. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with general ledger or specialized hotel property management systems (PMS). Soft Skills: Excellent multitasking, communication, and deadline-driven problem-solving abilities.
