Facility Maintenance Worker I supports Parks and Fair Park Maintenance, starting as early as March 1, 2026, and creating an Eligibility Register to fill future openings through October 31, 2026.
If you are hardworking, team oriented, reliable, and customer service driven, this seasonal work is a great opportunity! You will be assigned to work on a crew performing a variety of duties which may include routine grounds keeping, building maintenance and event support at the Evergreen Fair Park, or supporting routine facility maintenance and mowing support for over 120 Snohomish County parks and trail system.
Your strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to the public will make you successful in this role. Candidates should be comfortable working outside and working in a park's customer service environment. You must have a valid State of Washington Driver's License.

Once all positions are filled an Eligibility Register will be created which will expire on 10/31/2026.
This seasonal position pays $26.817 per hour and is typically scheduled for 40 hours per week, and you may be eligible for overtime in accordance with the bargaining agreement. You will be assigned to work at Evergreen State Fair Park, Parks Mow Crew or Parks Facility Maintenance crew.

Once all positions are filled an Eligibility Register will be created which will expire on 10/31/2026.

- Operates a variety of vehicles and equipment such as single axle trucks and trailers, forklifts, and operates tractors to perform surface maintenance, including dragging equestrian arenas. Picks up and delivers equipment, materials, parts, and supplies as required.
- Performs routine maintenance on assigned equipment by checking fluid levels, lubricating, and adjusting equipment as necessary. Track hours of equipment usage and report when approaching maintenance intervals.
- Performs a variety of routine grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming lawns, watering and weeding flower beds, raking, pick and shovel work, and using a variety of small power tools. May perform pesticide application under the license of a senior-level facilities maintenance worker.
- Performs a variety of specialized ballfield maintenance tasks such as grooming, marking, etc.
- Performs a variety of routine cleaning tasks such as cleaning and stocking restrooms, cleaning floors, and setting up facilities for a variety of meetings and events, clean up after meetings and events, and garbage and litter pickup.
- Paints a variety of interior and exterior building surfaces, fixtures, and furniture; prepares surfaces for painting by sanding, scraping, washing, and filling as necessary; mixes paints, stains, varnishes, epoxies, and other protective coating as required; applies paint or other protective coatings to the surface being finished using brushes, rollers, and/or spray-painting equipment.
- Fills out records and reports as necessary.
- Supports the annual fair at the Evergreen State Fair Park, working days before, during, and after to support the event.
- May assist in a variety of different building and construction trades and may be asked to perform basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
