Details Medical/surgical unit caring for adult patients 18 and over 50-bed medical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 May float to surgical peds or transitional care units Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, and other standard med/surg equipment Day shift schedule with 15-week contract length Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation Various shift lengths and days required; schedule flexibility needed No guarantee of hours or shift preference Requirements Active HI RN license required by start of assignment (may apply upon acceptance of offer if not currently licensed) Minimum 2 years of med/surg or higher level of care experience required BLS certification required ACLS certification preferred Additional Information Provide med/surg level nursing care to adult patients, including wound vac and chest tube management Department-specific training and orientation included in the first week Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start, with appointment scheduled onsite in Hilo Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health that Friday morning No holiday RTO requests permitted Professional nursing attire required with no specific scrub color restrictions Closed-toe shoes required as part of dress code American Traveler Job ID P-740830.
