About the Role
The Events Manager is responsible for the end-to-end ownership of melin’s event ecosystem, from strategic planning and budget management to coordinating on-site execution and post-event analysis. While the Marketing team assists in identifying and selecting strategic opportunities, this role owns the full logistical lifecycle of every event, ensuring the melin brand is represented with premium excellence in the field from coast to coast. This person will serve as the accountable owner across wholesale activations, retail events, community programming, and mCEL deployments, building strong cross-functional relationships and authentically representing melin at every touchpoint. 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

Event Strategy, Planning & Execution 

• Build and manage the annual events calendar across wholesale, retail, community, and mCEL activations.
• Own event briefs, pitches, budgets, and post-event recap decks with clear outcomes and learnings.
• Define event objectives and KPIs that align with brand and commercial goals.
• Manage all permitting, certificate of insurance (COI) requirements, and compliance documentation 
  required to legally execute events. 

mCEL Operations 

• Own the full mCEL program including calendar management, logistics, driving coordination, inventory, 
  and event-specific briefs and recaps.
• Responsible for safely and efficiently operating the mCEL to various event locations. 

Staffing & Street Team Management

• Build, hire, train, and manage the melin street team fleet of event sellers and drivers.
• Recruit, schedule, and manage event-specific staffing to ensure a seamless, “A player” customer 
  experience at every activation. 

Wholesale & Retail Activation Support 

• Work closely with the wholesale team to support nucleus events, trunk shows, and account-specific brand 
  experiences.
• Partner with the retail team to support in-store activations, product launches, and seasonal programming.
  

Community Programming 

• Support the Community Manager on event-based programming and local partnerships.
• Help grow melin’s community presence by putting more hats on heads across key markets nationwide.

Logistics & Vendor Management

• Lead negotiations for event footprint location and pricing to ensure optimal brand visibility and ROI.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and invoicing.
• Maintain and track event budgets with clear accountability and reporting. 

Experience & Qualifications 

• 5+ years of experience planning and executing events for a consumer brand, retailer, or experiential 
  agency
• Minimum 30% travel required
• Proven ability to manage event logistics end-to-end, including setup, tear-down, and operation of large 
  vehicles (mCEL)
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a company-provided melin truck to tow a 30' 
  mCEL trailer; experience towing large trailers preferred
• Strong negotiation skills with experience managing contracts, pricing, and vendor relationships.
• Experience obtaining event permits and certificates of insurance (COIs)
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple activations simultaneously
• Experience with Asana
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for managing staff and engaging with the melin community
• Comfortable with the physical demands of event production including heavy lifting and outdoor environments
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Passion for the active lifestyle, premium craftsmanship, and the values melin stands for
• Experience collaborating with wholesale, retail, and marketing teams is a strong
• Actively seeks out AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies, adapting quickly to leverage them for improved productivity, deeper insights, and more effective processes, while exercising sound judgment and maintaining compliance with organizational standards

Location & Office Structure : This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in San Clemente, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week. Subject to change without notice as per company guidelines.

Compensation : The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
