Position summary: The Distribution Coordinator provides oversight and assistance to volunteers performing the bagging portion of the distribution of frozen meals. Additionally, ensures that client produce and any additional items are for ready for delivery, as well as helping to ensure food safety standards are upheld. The Distribution Coordinator collaborates with the Distribution Manager, transportation team, Volunteer Coordinator, and leads volunteers to provide oversight to meet daily packaging goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Meal Packaging of Client Deliveries

· Leads the preparation and packaging of client orders.

· Oversees receiving, storage and rotation of finished product as meal inventory is replenished from production center.

· Guides volunteers in the packaging of frozen meals including assigning volunteers/staff to specific duties, training volunteers on packaging duties and providing ongoing direction.

· Leads the packaging of frozen meals according to individual driver route sheets.

· Ensure drivers routes are staged correctly; meals, client produce, milk & bread and any supplemental items as necessary

· Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are maintained during meal packaging and clean up

· Prepare bags for future packing based on route sheets and client orders

Inventory Management

· Performs counts to ensure inventory accuracy and product returns to ensure quality meals are delivered to clients on a daily basis

· Ensure proper rotation using the First-In First-Out Method (FIFO).

· Verifies counts and items transferred from Production Kitchen

· As meals are returned to storage from picking provides reconciliation to inventory counts

Other Duties:

· Provides awareness to Facilities Manager or Distribution Manager regarding equipment maintenance and repair needs.

· Adheres to all Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, by protecting the privacy and security of all patient/client health information

· Participates in Moveable Feast’s events as required.

· Knowledge of and adherence to Moveable Feast’s Personnel Policies and Procedures

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· At least 2 years’ work experience in a high-volume pick/pack operation

· 1 year of Warehouse Management System exposure

· Experience reading route sheets for delivery drivers

· Possess or can obtain Maryland ServSafe certification

· Must be able to work on site during production hours

· Knowledge of Food safety practices especially with regard to preparing meals for people with medical needs or specialty diets

· Ability to stand at counter height for up to 4 or more hours; lift up to 50 pounds

· Must be proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, video conferencing, slide presentations, online calendar and email

· Ability to communicate transparent direction

· Excellent customer service skills

· Must possess strong time management and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks effectively

· Ability to work independently and with a team

· Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

· Candidate must adhere to high ethical standards of integrity and discretion in working with confidential information
