The Hospice Medical Director (HMD) will be responsible for the overall medical direction of patient and family services. The HMD will work with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services, and Team Directors to plan and evaluate clinical services, serve on the Executive Team, support Provider Relations activities, and provide input to the CPI Committee. The HMD will assume a leadership role on the Ethics Committee. In conjunction with the HMD responsibilities, the Team Physician will partner with the interdisciplinary care team and be a strong leader in Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings to ensure a care plan is in place, that a patient’s needs are well anticipated, and that all regulatory requirements are met. The Team Physician will participate in in‑person and virtual visits when appropriate, and documentation of visits is required so all patients have access to their benefits. The Team Physician will also participate in a Call Coverage Rotation to address needs not anticipated during IDG and to serve newly admitted patients. The AccentCare Medical Group expects the Hospice Team Physician to exemplify the value of being part of a Care Team and to lead learning initiatives with the interdisciplinary team and the community around end‑of‑life issues. Qualifications Maintains an active license and DEA in the state where care is provided. Ten or more years of clinical experience, preferred; five or more years in a medical director or other administrative role, preferred. Proven success in building a de‑novo product/service/market in addition to overseeing clinical programs, preferred.
