Position: Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Location: Seattle, WA

Schedule:

• 5x8 Hour Shifts (Monday - Friday)
• 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
• No Weekends or On-Call Required

Job Description:

The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) will be part of a dynamic team in a pulmonary clinic setting. This position is open to both local and non-local candidates, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vital Signs:
  
  
  • Obtain and record vital signs including height, weight, pulse oximetry
• Preparation for Exams:
  
  
  • Record patient history, medications, and allergies
• Assistance with Procedures:
  
  
  • Set up and assist with nebulizer treatments
• Injections:
  
  
  • Administer immunizations and intramuscular injections
• Specimen Collection:
  
  
  • Labeling and handling of specimens, including sputum
• Laboratory Tests:
  
  
  • Conduct rapid tests such as Strep tests
• Office Duties:
  
  
  • Complete authorization forms and chart preparation
  • Handle pharmacy calls and patient refill requests
  • Maintain stock levels of supplies
• Professional Knowledge and Skills:
  
  
  • Administer medications and TB tests
  • Conduct follow-up phone calls and room patients efficiently

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA-C) is required; MA-R will not be accepted.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in an outpatient pulmonary clinic setting preferred.
• Proficiency in using EPIC electronic health records is necessary.

Unit Details:

• Special procedures include 6-minute walk testing, spirometry, and FeNO testing.
• This position does not require floating to other units or facilities.

Working Environment:

The role involves working in a collaborative environment with support from interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory and interpretation services. The clinic primarily serves adult patients, and daily visits range around 20 patients.
